LT1 9c1 Caprice 0-60 6.66 with cone air filter and headers Length: 0:24
Description: Video of my old car running 0-60 in 6.66. It's a 1995 Chevy Caprice police cruiser (9c1) with a 5.7 LT1 V8. Stock this car got low 7s 0-60 and low 15s quarter mile times.
This video was the best run of the night. If I just floored the pedal the tires would spin all the way to 2nd gear (~45mph) and the car wouldn't move, instead leaving 60 ft tire marks on the pavement. It took the perfect throttle positioning to minimize tire spin while still achieving maximum acceleration.
The stock air intake was removed and an "intake duct" was installed, which consists of a cone air filter attached to a 3" pipe adapter which connected right up with the mass airflow sensor, allowing a direct path for air intake and a larger cone air filter. Cost about $5 in parts plus a cheap cone air filter and made a significant difference in 0-60 times.
There was a leak in the passenger side exhaust manifold so I installed "Jet-hot" headers for about $300 rather than pay about the same for an exhaust manifold.

everything else is stock, including the exhaust, which is a shame because I could have probably got better times if I had upgraded.
tested using a G-Tech Pro

which is a device that uses an accelerometer to measure g-forces.

Taken October 2003 and was recorded in a large, vacant parking lot late at night. Car had about 166,000 miles on it at the time. Sold it 30,000 miles later when gas prices climbed to $3.50/gal and I could no longer afford a car that consistently got 16mpg. New owner blew up the engine within a month driving it like a idiot.
