Description: Take a train journey on the replica of the steam locomotive Planet, built in 1830, by Robert Stephenson, to carry passengers between Manchester and Liverpool. 1830 was the first year of train operation for The Liverpool and Manchester Railway (L&MR). This was the world's first steam passenger service on the world's first intercity railway. On the left you'll pass the oldest remaining railway station in the world and on the right you'll see the first railway warehouse ever built. All of this, and much more, can be experienced at the excellent Museum of Industry and Science in Manchester.
