Lot S124 1969 Pontiac Trans Am Ram Air III Auto

Length: 1:57
Description: The 1969 Firebird had an identity all its own, especially when equipped with the new Trans Am Performance and Appearance Package, which included the Ram Air III 400ci HO engine. Finished only in Polar White with Blue stripes and accents, the T/A employed a special Ram Air hood, sculpted air extractor vents on the front fenders and an integrated rear spoiler. Of 697 Trans Ams built that year, only 114 of them came with the Turbo 400 automatic. This award-winning '69 Ram Air III automatic is the recipient of an eighteen month concours-quality restoration, completed in spring 2005 by Aloha Automotive Services of Port Washington, Wisconsin. After painstaking surface preparation, the body was sprayed with four coats of Cameo White paint followed by Tyrol Blue stripes and 4 coats of clear. The resulting exterior fit and finish speak for themselves. All chrome was treated to triple plating by AIH of Dubuque, Iowa, and all stainless trim hand polished. The Rally II wheels were stripped and re-painted, and shod with period correct Goodyears. The rebuilt 400 HO engine has been refinished and detailed to factory standards using only correctly date coded components. The engine compartment retains its original steel hood and Ram Air pans, and the detailed undercarriage is factory correct, including spiral shocks, a replacement fuel tank, new stainless fuel/brake lines and full length Gardner aluminized exhaust. The interior was renewed with new carpeting, upholstery and trim, and many components reconditioned using products from Just Dashes and Legendary Auto Interiors. Wiring harnesses were also replaced. Since its restoration in 2004/2005 this car has been stored in an environmentally controlled garage and transported in an enclosed trailer.
