37 901 thrashes into Arley heading for Bridgnorth. Although not as loud as 37 906 I still rate this Mirlees powered loco highly. The noise reminds me of a Czech 749/751, or to a lesser extent a Tunisian DK

At the time the vid was taken there were 4 duel fuel Mirrlees K Majors two KP7's of 2000kw each and two KPV16's 6700kw each a total of 17.4 MW the largest Landfill Gas Power Station in Europe Sadley since the vid was shot both the KP7's have been decomisioned.... more

Turn up your speakers and enjoy 1800hp of unsilenced Mirrlees MB275T at full chat! This is 37901 climbing Berwyn Bank on a beautifully sunny Saturday 9th February 2008, the first day of Thomas week. Sadly 37901 left the Llangollen Railway in April 2008 and is unlikely to return.

Due to restrictive aspect 56302 was unable to build the train up to 75mph but after receiving a double yellow aspect on approach to Berkswell opens up with fantastic affect

Here's a quick video of the old Mirrlees in action, on the Queen of Tsawwassen. The Queen of Tsawwassen was one of the first two ferries built for the BC Ferries fleet, and is set to be retired by September 2008. She's had these old Mirrlees engines since she was built in 1960. She's a direct drive, with fixed propellars.

EWS (English Welsh & Scottish) Class 60 (Brush Type 5) "Tug" 051 running light engine northbound. It is seen passing Heatherbell level crossing (north of Coatbridge) first of all, as a Class 156 "Super-Sprinter" DMU runs south. I then caught it again at Greenfoot (further north), its Mirrlees.... more
