I installed an iPod Touch in the dash of my 2006 Jeep SRT8. It connects to my wireless network (or any open networks), I can turn on and off the charging of it, and I can sync it with my MacBook Pro through a USB jack. No modification of the dash was necessary. The packaging tray was used to hold it in place behind the vent opening.
