Anyone who owned a GM muscle car with the M-22 Muncie trans. can recognize the gear noise in this clip from the movie,"Two Lane Blacktop"

outside sound. Updated 6/25/08- This whine ended up being caused by a mechanical fuel pressure gauge and or isolator. Removal of the guage solved the whine. I have no idea why and neither does the manufacturer. I have a "snubber" that they would like me to try.

What's the problem with my car

Only happens during the first few minutes after a cold start the whine changes pitch, and stops for a few seconds at a time, then stops completely after a few minutes and never happens again till next cold start

I ported and half polished this cast manifold and sprayed it with a ceramic coating on the inside and on the outside for better thermal insulation. The old 5 bolt flange plate is a nightmare and slows the turbo down way to much, its not the cast collar like everybody thinks is the problem, its the small port that creates back pressure and reduces exhaust velocity.
